TVS Motor Company has introduced the Racing Edition of the Apache RTR 160 in India. This new variant features a matte black color scheme, complemented by red and grey stripes, carbon fibre-inspired graphics, and red alloy wheels, enhancing its sporty appearance.
Mechanically, the bike remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the same 159cc single-cylinder engine that produces 16.04 hp at 8,750 rpm and 13.85 Nm at 7,000 rpm, paired with a five-speed gearbox. The Apache RTR 160 2V accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.3 seconds and achieves a real-world tested mileage of 45.06 km/l in the city and 46.99 km/l on the highway.
The bike still offers a robust feature list, including an LCD console, Bluetooth connectivity, voice assistance, turn-by-turn navigation, three riding modes, Glide Through Technology (GTT), and LED headlamps and tail lamps. In terms of hardware, it rides on 17-inch alloy wheels supported by telescopic forks and dual springs, with braking managed by petal-type discs at both ends.
The RTR 160 2V Racing Edition has a 12-litre fuel tank capacity, 790mm seat height, 180mm ground clearance, and a kerb weight of 138kg, while the drum variants weigh 137kg (kerb).
